Ian has been playing golf since the age of 9 and had the opportunity to learn all the facets of the swing from Robert at an early stage in his career. Ian worked at Royal Cape Golf Club in Cape Town under Simon Fogarty (ex UK tour player) from 1991, turning pro in 1993 and obtained his A class PGA teaching status. In 1997 Ian moved to Fancourt Golf Estate in George, as Head Professional, running the Golf Academy. During this time he ran the Ernie Els golf day. Returning to Cape Town in 1998 ,Ian started the Golf Academy at the River Club in Observatory, Cape Town. In June 2004 Logical Golf opened it's first South African Golf Academy at the River Club and by October 2005 after instruction from Grant Hepburn, Ian qualified as a Level 3 Logical Golf instructor.
