Gary Taggart has been involved in the game of golf since the age of seven. Having won many junior titles, he turned professional at age sixteen and played for two years in small tours in England, Scotland, and France. After training with Keith Williams and twice European Tour winner Stephen McAllister, he became the Club Professional of Golf Development at Glasgow City Council, where he was in charge of all coaching and development for golf in Glasgow.
During his time with Golf Development, he went on to win Young Coach of Year 2001 & 2002, and was nominated for Golf Monthly top 25 Coaches in the UK, as well as winning a prestigious award for working with juniors. He has worked with logicalgolf® and Robert Baker for three years, and has his own teaching business with contracts from Glasgow City Council, North Lanarkshire Council, Bearsden Golf Club, Bishopbriggs Golf Club, Golf Foundation, and BBC Scotland. He has just launched logicalgolf® Scotland and is about to open his Teaching Academy, working with his mentors Robert Baker and Grant Hepburn.
During his progression from assistant-professional to professional to full-time coach, Gary has worked with golfers of all abilities, from complete beginners to young professionals. He continues his education in coaching by travelling the globe working and learning from the best instructors in the world. His ambition is to work with Tour Players full time on European Tour, and work and train with his mentor Robert Baker who has taught five number-one ranked players in the world, including Ernie Els, Greg Norman, and Seve Ballesteros.
