
Louis first held a golf club at the age of 14 and through practice and determination he achieved a scratch handicap by the time he was 17 years old.
During his school vacations Louis would offer clinics to younger players and often had his peers practicing drills. He soon realized that he had a natural ability in analyzing the swing and figuring out faults & fixes .He drew his inspiration and expanded his knowledge by reading golf publications , such as “The Complete Golfer’.
It wasn’t long before he got hooked on being a Coach.
Louis is a graduate of Tshwane University of Technology, in Pretoria where he studied Sport & Exercise Technology
He represented the universities 1st team for 3 years as well as the SA University team in his 3rd year.
He started his coaching career at the TUT Golf Academy in Pretoria and is a qualified PGA Professional.
It is at TUT that Grant Hepburn introduced Louis to Logical Golf where after he went on to coach the TUT Golf Academy that won the South African Students Golf Tournament Division A- 2003 & division B in 2004.
Louis is currently the Coaching Director at the TUT Golf Academy where he trains over 60 students to become Logical Golf Coaches, as well as coach numerous top amateurs .
In January 2006 Louis was appointed the Head Coach for the new, exciting High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria.
This gives him the opportunity to work with some of the best talent in South Africa.
